Tram line 1 in Constantine

Tram line 1 in Constantine runs from Université Abdelhamid-Mehri in Ali-Mendjeli to the south of Constantine to Ben Abdelmalek Remdane, which is in the center. Trams run approximately every 4 minutes on weekdays and every 8 minutes on Fridays.

The Constantine tramway opened in 2013 and originally ran from runs from Zouaghi Slimane to Ben Abdelmalek Remdane, with 10 stops. In 2019, the line was extended south from Zouaghi Slimane to Chahid Kadri Brahim adding an additional 5 stops. The line was extended again in 2021, adding another 6 stops to take it to the current terminus at Université Abdelhamid-Mehri.

From the terminus stop at Université Abdelhamid-Mehri in Ali-Mendjeli, the line runs northeast along the middle of the road, until it reaches Ennasr. From Ennasr, the line turns left and runs roughly north alongside the road, until it enters a tunnel. Inside the tunnel, the line turns right and emerges just before the Avenue de l'ALN stop. From Avenue de l'ALN, the line continues in a northeast direction, passing Ali Mendjeli, Cité EL-Istiklal and Echouhada. From Echouhada, the line continues northeast, until it reaches Kadri Brahim.

From Kadri Brahim, the line turns left to run in a northwesterly direction along through open land, passing 8 mai 1945 and then heading north to 19 mai 1956 and Université Salah Boubnider. From Université Salah Boubnider, the line continues across the open land between Ali-Mendjeli and Constantine, crossing the A2 motorway and passing El Aifour, until it reaches the original terminus stop of Zouaghi Sliman.

From Zouaghi Sliman, the line travels north alongside the N79, at one stage passing underneath it via a short tunnel, until it reaches the stop at Cité Kheznadar. From Cité Kheznadar, the line continues north alongside the N79, passing Résidence Universitaire Mentouri and Université Mentouri. Shortly after Université Mentour, the line turns left and heads west, crossing the N79 Oued Rhumel and stopping at Z.I Palma.

From Z.I Palma, the line continues west, going under the N5, before stopping at Fadhila Saadane. From Fadhila Saadane, the line runs alongside Rue Ernesto Che Guevara and almost turns back on itself to head southwest for a short distance until the road and tram line turn right, after the buildings of Banque de l'agriculture et du développement rural and stops at Emir Abdelkader. From Emir Abdelkader, the line turns right again as it follows Rue Ernesto Che Guevara and then Avenue Kadour Boumedous, passing Kadous Boumedous and Belle Vue, before running alongside the Ramadan Ben-Abdelmalek Stadium to the terminus stop of Ben Abdelmalek Remdane.
